10 The Rotary Club of OrmeauPimpama were guests at the Rocky Point Fire Brigade where they hosted the night which included an inspection and tour of the brigade’s station and operations followed by a smorgasbord of food and delights provided courtesy of the brigade. First Officer, Thomas Ray, welcomed the Rotary members and thanked the club for their attendance and the challenge to become 50/50 partners to raise $66, 000 to purchase a new Ford Ranger Command vehicle and equipment for the brigade. Mr Ray stated that the vehicle and projected use is of utmost importance to the communities of Jacobs Well, Cabbage Tree Point, Alberton, and Norwell as well as the greater Gold Coast Region. The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama Latest Challenge Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama The vehicle will provide critical logistical support by transporting fire-fighters and equipment across firegrounds. Additionally, this type of vehicle plays a vital role in natural disasters such as floods and enhances the brigade’s ability to respond to emergencies more effectively. Beyond responding to these emergencies, the vehicle will support community engagement initiatives, including school education programs, as well as local events such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day at Woongoolba Bowls Club. The project is a crucial step in building resilience for the northern Gold Coast community and ensuring the volunteer fire-fighters are well equipped for the future.
