To ensure a speedy and accurate response by police to protect property in adverse situations, police register the after-hours keyholders to allow contact to be made quickly to ensure access or to arrange the security of the premises. This would apply in circumstances such as burglary, storm damage, fire and/or wilful or accidental damage. As there is significant development growth in the Pimpama and surrounding areas, there is great benefit in registering after-hours contacts for police, especially newer businesses. ViPs Vyv and Ron have commenced at the Pimpama City Shopping Centre where so far 22 businesses have registered their after-hours contacts with police. The ViPs will be continuing to attend local businesses in the area over the coming months. If you have information for police, contact Policelink by providing information using the online suspicious activity form 24hrs per day at www. police.qld.gov.au/reporting.
